It’s that time of year....
....The time of year when all the flying ants hatch out of the ground and fly everywhere and get caught in your hair and sometimes end up in your mouth. Do you remember when you werere a child and those bugs always stormed out of the ground on one particular day in the summer, and they were EVERYWHERE, but never to be seen again. Well today it happened and it was overcast yet sticky and humid. I guess flying ants like humidity.
Anyway....where has our nice British summer gone? Where's the bloody sun? I'm off on my holiday to Ibiza in a couple of weeks with a group of my best pals and I'm really looking forward to it. It's going to be ten days of pure bliss - phone and laptop off, shorts and sunscreen on. I've decided to get really brown this year and I've already been OD'ing on St Topez spray tans.
Hmmmm....what else can I talk about....?
Don't forget to tune into my segment on News Cube on MTV every Saturday at midday to catch up on the Hollywood gossip. I feel like Perez Hilton!!
There's loads coming up from me in the Autumn and I'll keep you posted - lots of TV, plus national and international DJ gigs and even some music. You'll be the first to hear about it.
If you're at the festivals and you see a big beehive floating around, grab me and say hi. I'll be at V and Bestival - both of which offer a stellar line-up. Can't wait.

( 2.9 / 136 )So good they named it twice. The Big Apple. The City that never sleeps.
I'm in NYC for a week of tough work (in case you didn't know, I do actually work quite a lot on various projects, I don't just show up in a wig and play some records!!!)
So...I'm working on quite an exciting project over here. I'm not sure I want to talk about it in detail yet until things are finished and polished but it's something music based, and it's something worth flying out to NYC to do. You'll be the first to know when I'm ready to talk about it. OH OK - here's a clue, it's a collaboration with someone I admire greatly in the music field.
It's fucking hot in the City. You step out of your apartment and sweat is dripping down your face before you've reached the end of your block. It's humid like the jungle. Not a nice dry heat like in Africa or Spain but a wet sticky one. Yuck.
I'm sat in Starbucks in Chelsea doing Carrie Bradshaw impressions on my MacBook and killing time before I go to the movies with Miss Amanda Lepore, who i haven't seen for nearly a year, and I'm looking forward to catching up with her. Chelsea is a super gay area, it's like Vauxhall in London. Loads of queens are passing the window. It's hilarious. I just saw an old lady stepping out of a cab onto the sidewalk and she had a skirt on, and displayed rather too much information (her vagina basically) as she yanked her legs out. That's something interesting to wake up to along with your morning coffee. I could teach her a thing or two about how to exit a cab with dignity.
The club scene in NYC isn't what it used to be. There isn't too much going on, but there are cute little pockets on interesting things to go to. There's more of a bar culture than a club scene here at the moment. The mayor shut all the big Ministry of Sound type superclubs at the beginning of the century. I think there are a few warehouse parties in Brookyln but I haven't checked them out yet. No partying for me here this time around, it's all work work work.
Anyhooo, I'll stop boring you and will probably post another blog when I'm at the airport in a few days.

( 3 / 119 )Went to the Billionaire Boys Club party this week. Great bash. It was in Harvey Nicks (sweety) and N.E.R.D performed. I missed their show as I had to dash off an DJ for an event for the Princes Trust t London College of Fashion, my old stomping ground.
Mischa Barton was there. What does she do again? Wasn't she in a TV show in LA or something once? For absolutely no reason whatsoever I think I might hate her. Anyway, the party was kinda pumpin' and the ice cream was kinda' flowin'. Good times.
Ummm....is anyone interested in this blog? Probably not. Here's a gratuitous picture of me at the party with my friends Jo and Ronen. I'm off to get some Cornflakes, I have nothing interesting to say today.

( 3 / 137 )I've spent the last couple of days hanging out in Brick Lane in East London and am considering buying a place to live in the area in a year or so. There's a great creative energy in the area, lots of great bargain shops, cafes and hangout joints and, of course, a massive selection of nightclubs and bars.
Yesterday was the Art Car Boot Fair in the area behind 93 Feet East, which I visited with Scottee. Essentially it was a mini art festival (on a very sunny afternoon) held in a car park with performances from the team behind Bethnal Green Working Mens Club, plus a huge array of things to do and buy from local artists. I bought a rosette with the words 'prima donna' spread across it, and I paid two pounds to have the first paragraph of my novel written by a pair of ladies who aim to ease writers block.
I gave the two ladies my name and the title of 'My Life in Drag' (unoriginal, I know) and they typed up the following:
'I grew up believing that life could be beautiful, but I have a rather strange definition of beauty. Beauty is something you can find everywhere, in High Streets, in car parks and especially in dark alleys. You could say my entire life has been a search for the beautiful.
An ugly search, at times.'
Watch this space - i reckon I'll use that in my autobiography. The girls assured me that by handing over a shiny two-pound coin I was buying the rights to do whatever I wished with the text.
Anyway, if I end up buying a crib round there I'll invite you all round for tea. At the moment I'm happy to stay in Camden for the next year or two.
