Proud moments, and why Missy Elliot and Will Smith should come out!
Me again, just here blowing my own trumpet. You know the drill.

The number 1 American gay magazine Out has put me in their annual selection of the 100 gay men and women who moved culture in 2008. The 'unashamedly subjective' Out 100 poll includes artists, athletes, politicians, popstars, actors and....Katy Perry (technically a hetro but has admitted to kissing ladies via a number one single).

Sam Sparro's there, plus Michael Patrick King (creator of Sex and the City), Gus Van Sant, John Barroman) and Sir Ian Mckellenwho was on set on the same day I had my portrait shot. He lent me a Marlboro light which we smoked on the balcony of the studio. Yep, I've had a fag with Gandalf!

No sign of Missy Elliot, John Travolta, Tom Cruise or Will Smith yet... I guess they're not ready to come out of the closet and wear their rainbow badges with pride. Oops...did I say that?!

Here's a link to the write-up

I've always been very comfortable with myself and my sexuality which is why being on a list like that not only confirms that what I do for a living is appreciated, but also screams 'GAY PRIDE' as loud as those drag queens at the Stonewall Riots decades ago in New York.

I'm proud of what I do, what I've done, and how I'm going to keep going and going and really not giving a fuck about what people think or say.

God, that got a bit deep. I'm sure next time my blog will be back to harping on about shoes, hair and parties.

My new tattoo
What is it? A curly Salvadore Dali moustache
Where is it? On my finger
Why is it? So I can out my finger up to my nose and it looks like I have a tache...it's playing with the notion of gender which is what I'm all about.
Regret it? Never

I'm not in rehab - I'm at a spa!
Hey ya'll

As I right this I'm chilling out in Valecia, Spain at a great spa called The SHA Clinic (it's not rehab BTW, I know the name makes it sound like I'm strapped to a bed to dry-out or something). Anyhoo, the sun is shining even though it's a tad chilly and the view from my room looks over an incredible moutain range. I can see Benidorm, the true spiritual home of kebabs and alcopops, in the very distance. It bizarrely looks a bit similar to the Manhattan skyline viewed from Queens or Brooklyn. I wasn't expecting that!

Anyway, this place is wicked. It's brand new and there's a butler designated for each guest (glamourama!) Today I had Reiki for the first time which is very relaxing, and I've been doing yoga on a terrace at 6:30am as the sun rises. Does this all paint a different picture of me?

Well...I admit I've been a bit naughty....

They only serve macrobiotic food here so I made sure I brought a stash of Kit Kats in case I got peckish or needed sugar. Macrobiotics isn't just a type of food that Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow eat, it's basically a way of living and looking after your body. I have a really balanced diet back home, I love a bit of junk food and i equally love healthy food. Here though, you can't eat dairy, meat, sugar, cafine....the list goes on. BORING! The food they do serve is quite tasty though, apart from the tofu based dishes (BLEUGHHHH!) You're not allowed to smoke here, either, and they strongly advise seeing someone to help you quit while you're here. Bollocks to that.

I guess I'm on a boot camp detox week before I head back to London to kick start the party season.

Righty ho, I'm off for a facial. Check back soon for the 411 on the closure of Circus in Soho and what I have planned for it!

Circus news
Circus has been a great success over the past few weeks. The club I started when I left university as a sideline project to pay off my student debt has flourished into a bit of a legendary night out. The list of people we've had DJ'ing is incredible and no other club in the world can boast such a vast array of creative types who have come down to spin on the Circus decks and make you dance:Amy Winehouse, Perez Hilton, Alphabeat, Will Young, Roisin Murphy, Skin, CSS, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Henry Holland, Alex Zane, The Feeling, Kelly Osbourne, Pete Burns and Patrick Wolf have all DJ'd in the past year alone. Try topping that motherfuckerzzz!

Anyway, some exciting news. This week the musical genius, Madonna collaborator and all-round legend WILLIAM ORBIT is DJ'ing. He came to DJ at Circus last year and brought the house down with Ray of Light and an eclectic set of electro, 80's urban hits and modern pop which went down like....well like Wiliam Orbit was at your party DJ'ing!!!

Here's the brand new Circus logo designed by the artist Eine which is going on the new flyer when Circus relaunches with a whole new look:

And finally here's where it all happens. See you on Friday.
